In an unprecedented development, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) witnessed its highest-ever net member addition in May 2025. The payroll data unveiled on Monday highlighted an inflow of 20.06 lakh members, symbolizing a robust rise in India's organized employment landscape.
The induction consisted of 9.42 lakh first-time employees, marking an 11.04% increment over April 2025. Notably, a substantial chunk of these new members belongs to the 18-25 age bracket, with an increase of 14.53% from the previous month.
The data underscores the increasing inclusivity in the workforce with 2.62 lakh new female subscribers and significant state-wise contributions, particularly Maharashtra. This trend is reflective of broader employment opportunities and EPFO's enhanced outreach programs.
