A government subsidy plan for electric vehicles ended abruptly in three districts of Xi'an, the capital of China's Shaanxi province, according to local media reports on Tuesday.

Applications for these subsidies will cease by the end of July, though no specific reasons for this pause were disclosed in the report. Meanwhile, other Chinese cities like Zhengzhou and Luoyang have already stopped accepting trade-in subsidies, citing an exhaustion of the initial funding round provided by Beijing.

The state planner and finance ministry indicated that the next rounds of consumer trade-in subsidies are scheduled for issuance in July and October, providing some relief amidst the funding concerns.
