Tragedy Strikes During Bundeswehr Training Flight

In a tragic incident, a helicopter crash claimed the lives of two Bundeswehr soldiers while another remains missing near Leipzig. This mishap occurred during a training flight on Tuesday morning, according to the defence ministry, which indicated that the root cause of the crash remains undetermined.

The defence ministry confirmed that the helicopter, operated by Helicopter Wing 64 and leased for routine flight exercises, went down, prompting search and rescue teams to comb the area in search of the missing crew member.

Expressing profound grief, Defence Minister Boris Pistorius remarked that the loss has deeply affected both him and the entire Bundeswehr. The ministry added that Bundeswehr's General for Aviation Safety will spearhead an investigation into the crash, working closely with civilian authorities.
