Maruti Suzuki Drives Sales Up by 3% in July with Export Boost

Maruti Suzuki India reported a 3% year-on-year sales increase in July, reaching 1,80,526 units, boosted by exports. Although there was marginal growth in domestic passenger vehicle dispatches, mini segment sales declined. Compact car and van sales rose slightly, while light commercial vehicle sales dipped.

Maruti Suzuki India announced a 3% year-on-year rise in total sales for July, reaching 1,80,526 units. The auto manufacturer's growth was significantly spurred by increased exports.

The company's domestic passenger vehicle sales saw a marginal rise, with dispatches to dealers standing at 1,37,776 units compared to last July's 1,37,463 units. While mini segment sales, including the Alto and S-Presso, dropped significantly, other categories showed varying trends.

Sales of compact cars like the Baleno and Swift rose to 65,667 units, and van Eeco sales saw a slight increase to 12,341 units. However, utility vehicles and light commercial vehicles saw a dip in sales. Notably, Maruti's exports jumped to 31,745 units compared to 23,985 units a year earlier.
