Maharashtra's Bold Step: Empowering the Brahmin Community

Maharashtra appoints six senior bureaucrats to lead the Parshuram Economic Development Corporation, aimed at fostering self-employment for economically weaker Brahmin sections. Inaugurated by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, the corporation will focus on agriculture and small industries, launched to assist students under the economically weaker sections category from October 2024.

The Maharashtra government has taken a significant step by appointing six senior bureaucrats as directors of the newly established Parshuram Economic Development Corporation. The initiative aims to create self-employment and business opportunities for economically weaker sections of the Brahmin community.

This decision is bolstered by a government resolution issued on August 19, confirming their roles. The corporation's mandate includes promoting agriculture-related ventures, small-scale industries, and transport enterprises to elevate the community's economic status.

With plans to assist students under the economically weaker sections category starting from October 2024, the corporation's Pune office was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on May 1, marking a proactive move for social upliftment.
