Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday lauded the Jain community for its remarkable contribution to India's economy, during the inaugural session of JITO Connect 2025.
Singh pointed out that though Jains represent only 0.5% of the population, they contribute an impressive 24% to the nation's tax revenue, underscoring their industriousness and prosperity.
He emphasized the Jain community's influence across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, aviation, and education, and highlighted their deep cultural roots and historical significance in India.
