Italy's ITA Airways has announced an extension of its suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv, a move set to last until the year's end, according to a Monday statement. The suspension also covers two flights scheduled for New Year's Day 2026. This decision stems from the ongoing conflict affecting the region.
The continued hostilities in Gaza, ignited by an October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, have led to multiple disruptions in flight operations. This prolonged conflict has influenced several airlines, with ITA becoming the latest to extend its temporary suspension of services to Israel.
ITA had initially planned to resume its Tel Aviv services on November 2. However, given the current circumstances, the airline is offering passengers the option to rebook their flights at a later date or request refunds. ITA is part of the Lufthansa group, which is monitoring the situation closely.
