Surge in Warehousing Leases Across Major Indian Cities

Leasing of industrial and warehousing spaces in eight major Indian cities increased by 28% to 37 million sq ft from January to September 2025, mostly due to demand in Delhi-NCR. This growth is fueled by Third-Party Logistics providers and quick commerce expansion, per a CBRE report.

Leasing activity for industrial and warehousing spaces across eight major Indian cities recorded a 28% rise, reaching an unprecedented 37 million sq ft during the first three quarters of 2025. The surge, largely driven by demand in Delhi-NCR, was reported by CBRE.

According to CBRE's 'India Market Monitor Q3 2025 – Industrial & Logistics' report, Delhi-NCR led the leasing activities with 11.7 million sq ft, followed by Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The combined activity in these three cities constituted a 59% share of the total leasing volume.

The increased demand is attributed to the expansion of Third-Party Logistics providers and quick commerce, as businesses seek sophisticated, high-specification Grade A assets that enhance automation and supply chain efficiency, according to CBRE executives.
