Maruti Suzuki's Jimny 5-Door: A Global Export Success

Maruti Suzuki's Jimny 5-door compact SUV has reached a milestone of one lakh exports since its debut in 2023. Exported to over 100 countries, it has achieved notable success in Japan. Maruti Suzuki's total export volumes have shown year-on-year growth, emphasizing India's emergence as a global manufacturing hub.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced a significant milestone with its compact SUV, the Jimny 5-door, surpassing cumulative exports of 1 lakh units from India. This marks a significant achievement for the company since the export of the model began in 2023.

The Jimny 5-door has captured global attention, being shipped to over 100 countries, including major markets like Japan, Mexico, and Australia. In Japan, the vehicle is marketed as 'Jimny Nomade,' and it quickly amassed 50,000 orders shortly after its introduction in January 2025.

The Managing Director & CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, expressed pride in the Jimny's export success and highlighted the broader export momentum of Maruti Suzuki, which saw its overall export volumes rise to 3.32 lakh units in 2024-25. This underscores India's growing stature as a hub for world-class automobile manufacturing.
