The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district lodged a case against unknown individuals for stone pelting on the Mumbai-Howrah Duronto Express, officials stated on Thursday.

According to JN Mishra, RPF Manoharpur officer-in-charge, the incident occurred near Manoharpur station when a stone hit an AC 2-tier coach. A red light had temporarily halted the train, providing an opportunity for the attack.

While only a windowpane was damaged and no injuries were reported, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Aditya Kumar Choudhary assured that an inquiry is active and the perpetrators will be apprehended shortly.
