A critically injured Iranian fisherman was rescued mid-sea by the Indian Coast Guard, after being alerted to an explosion-related injury aboard a dhow approximately 1,500 kilometers west of the Kochi coast.

The rescue operation was swiftly coordinated between the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centres (MRCC) in Chabahar, Iran, and Mumbai, India, in response to the critical condition of the injured master, Mr. Allah Baksh.

ICG Ship Sachet and the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker MT STI Grace were deployed to the location where the injured fisherman was evacuated and stabilized before being transferred to Goa for further medical treatment.
