Airbus India Chief Advocates for Aerospace Incentives

In a recent statement, Airbus India head Jürgen Westermeier proposed that the Indian government should consider extending production-linked incentives to the country's aerospace sector. He referenced the substantial annual sourcing of over USD 1.4 billion in components and services from India to support his advocacy.

Westermeier, who recently took on the role of President and Managing Director for India and South Asia, emphasized India's strategic importance to Airbus, amidst significant investments in the sector, including the establishment of new Final Assembly Lines (FALs) in Karnataka and Gujarat for their helicopters and military aircraft.

Speaking at the Aviation India and South Asia 2025 conference, Westermeier noted the impressive growth trajectory of India's aviation industry and called on legislative support to further bolster this sector, which is integral to Airbus's global operations.
