Maharashtra has topped the list of states with the highest number of passenger and commercial vehicle sales in the second quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year. This data, reported by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), highlights a leading trend in the western zone, with 3.44 lakh units of passenger vehicles sold nationwide.
In the passenger vehicle segment, Maharashtra's robust sales of 1,31,822 units, comprising a 12.7 percent market share, were followed by Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. The commercial vehicle domain saw Maharashtra also leading with 37,091 units sold, securing a 15.5 percent share.
Uttar Pradesh dominated the two- and three-wheeler markets, with impressive figures of 6,92,869 and 28,246 units sold, respectively. This demonstrates a significant regional preference, with the southern zone leading in three-wheeler sales at 77,000 units.
