VFS Global announced on Tuesday that it has secured a prestigious five-year contract to manage visa applications for Slovakia from 83 nations, among them India. The deal stipulates the establishment of 87 new visa application centers across 41 nations by January 2026, with further centers anticipated as the contract progresses.
This expansion is poised to address the surge in international visitors to Slovakia, which saw over 2.16 million tourists in 2024, marking a 3.9% rise from the previous year. Notably, the strongest demand for visa applications is expected from countries like India, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and China, cumulatively representing approximately 70% of the expected volume.
Jiten Vyas, VFS Global Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Business Development, expressed enthusiasm about the renewed partnership with Slovakia's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, emphasizing that the enhanced network of visa centers will significantly improve accessibility, efficiency, and user experience for travelers.
