Tragedy Strikes: Fatal Collision on JNPA-Panvel Road

A fatal collision between an SUV and a container truck on the JNPA-Panvel road in Raigad district resulted in two deaths and five injuries, police reported on Saturday.

The accident occurred when the speeding SUV rammed into the truck from behind, leading to the deaths of Navi Mumbai residents Hitendra Sanjay Patil and Shrinath Chandralekhar, both aged 22. The injured were promptly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Panvel Police have registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. A police official stated, “Preliminary findings indicate rash and negligent driving. Further investigation is in progress.”
