AI is set to become a game-changer for India's Media and Entertainment sector, according to Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Speaking at the CII Big Picture event in Mumbai, Jaju urged the industry to view the WAVES Summit as part of a broader movement fostering creativity and progress.

Jaju emphasized that the WAVES Summit transcends conventional events, advocating for a journey of growth and innovation. Stressing the sector's vital role, he noted India's creative economy supports over 10 million livelihoods, contributing Rs 3 lakh crore to GDP. However, India's global market share remains at just 2%, highlighting a need for growth.

AI's transformative role in reshaping content creation was a focal point of his address. Jaju urged the industry to adopt new technologies to avoid losing global market share, emphasizing India's stories must resonate worldwide. Industry leaders echoed the sentiment, calling for collaboration, innovation, and policy reforms to propel India's creative economy.
