Air Chaos: IndiGo Flight Cancellations Disrupt Travel Nationwide

For four consecutive days, IndiGo Airlines has cancelled approximately 500 flights daily. The extensive disruptions have left passengers stranded at Mumbai's international airport, prompting heightened police presence. The chaos in air travel across India continued for a fourth day as IndiGo Airlines, the nation's largest carrier, cancelled around 500 flights, stranding passengers for extended hours. The widespread disruptions prompted a heightened security presence at Mumbai's international airport amidst significant passenger inconvenience.

At Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Terminus, more than 50% of IndiGo flights were cancelled by noon, exacerbating the already tense situation. The airline has initiated reimbursements and baggage handling for affected passengers, while accommodations have been arranged for those with ongoing international travel.

Despite these efforts, the situation is aggravated by rising costs in surrounding areas, with local hotels and taxi services increasing their rates. Meanwhile, IndiGo's On-Time Performance rating plummeted to 8.5%, highlighting the operational challenges faced by the airline.
