A railway hub in the vicinity of Kyiv fell victim to a massive drone and missile assault from Russia, inflicting significant damage upon the depot and carriages, as confirmed by Ukraine's state railway company, Ukrzaliznytsia, on Saturday.
In recent weeks, Russian aggression has been marked by an escalation in attacks on critical infrastructure across Ukraine, focusing heavily on its energy sector and transport systems. As a consequence, Ukrzaliznytsia had to cancel multiple suburban train services near Kyiv and in northeastern Chernihiv, according to their statement on the Telegram app.
Emergency teams reported significant fire damage and destruction within the railway station and depot areas. The attack also extended to infrastructure in the Chernihiv region, though further details were not disclosed.
