Railway Hub Attacked Amid Intensified Russian Strikes on Ukrainian Infrastructure
A major railway hub near Kyiv was damaged in a large-scale Russian drone and missile attack focused on Ukraine's energy and transport infrastructures. No casualties were reported, but the attack disrupted train services and targeted power facilities, leaving thousands without heat or water in several regions.
A significant railway hub near Kyiv suffered damage due to a large-scale Russian drone and missile offensives, according to the Ukrainian state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia on Saturday.
Despite the attack in Fastiv, no casualties have been reported. In recent weeks, Russia has intensified its focus on destabilizing Ukraine's energy and infrastructure sectors, targeting crucial elements like power stations and railway hubs.
Ukrzaliznytsia announced on Telegram that it canceled various suburban train services near Kyiv and Chernihiv. Emergency services confirmed a fire and extensive damage at the station and depot, while additional attacks occurred in the Chernihiv region. Further strikes in Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk aimed at power and heat facilities have left many without essential services, particularly in the southern Odesa region.
