CPI(M) General Secretary MA Baby has called for a thorough investigation into the recent disruptions faced by IndiGo airlines, alleging potential collusion between airline companies and the DGCA. According to Baby, this collaboration aimed to delay the implementation of revised safety norms, capitalizing on the resulting chaos for profit.
In a post on X, Baby labeled the disruptions as a "criminal action" by IndiGo, also criticizing the ''bleated and meek'' response of the Union government. He emphasized the need for full refunds and compensation for affected passengers and suggested a Joint Parliamentary Committee or a Judicial Commission to delve into the issue.
The disruptions saw IndiGo cancelling over 1,000 flights, leaving thousands of passengers stranded at airports. While the airline's operations are stabilizing, with 1,650 flights operating on Sunday and 650 cancelled, the call for accountability and thorough investigation continues.
