Controversy Over Pickup Changes at Bengaluru's Kempegowda Airport

The Karnataka Drivers' Union staged a protest against new pick-up modifications at Kempegowda International Airport, claiming they inconvenience drivers and passengers. Despite police intervention to maintain order, the airport authorities argue the updated system improves safety and efficiency. The changes include penalties for overstaying in designated zones.

On Tuesday, members of the Karnataka Drivers' Union took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the recent modifications in pick-up locations at Kempegowda International Airport.

The demonstration, led by Union President G Narayanaswamy, occurred near the Sadahalli Gate toll plaza. Mild police force was employed to manage the situation as protesters blocked taxis from airport access.

Protestors criticized the revised pick-up arrangements for causing congestion and financial burdens due to the contentious parking fee structure. Airport authorities, however, insist the changes enhance safety and efficiency, including a time-restricted, penalized system for pick-up zones.
