The BJP has accused the Trinamool Congress of overseeing a decline in industrialisation in West Bengal. The allegations come alongside the release of a report titled 'West Bengal: Industrialisation graveyard,' highlighting a crucial need for substantial industrial investments to create jobs.

BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya criticised the exodus of large companies from West Bengal, attributing it to negative signals sent by incidents in Singur and Nandigram. According to Bhattacharya, reindustrialisation requires establishing large industries with local landowners sharing ownership in new enterprises.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari denounced the Bengal Global Business Summits as ineffective, claiming such events failed to yield significant investments. He emphasized that only federal initiatives have invested in West Bengal's infrastructure and stressed the urgency for large industrial development to address soaring state debt.
