The arrest of Jahangir Khan, a prominent Trinamool Congress leader, has intensified political discourse in West Bengal. CPI(M) leader Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya expressed support for the move but criticized the delayed response, questioning the government's inaction toward addressing criminal activities sooner.

Jahangir Khan, previously wanted in multiple cases under the Falta PS, was apprehended at Panitanki Bazar, Darjeeling by the West Bengal Special Task Force in collaboration with Darjeeling Police. His earlier withdrawal from the Falta Assembly elections was seen as controversial, with BJP mocking his retreat.

This arrest comes amid a sweeping crackdown on Trinamool Congress leaders embroiled in corruption allegations. Several prominent figures, including Tilak Kumar Chakraborty and Rajib Banerjee, were detained over various charges, highlighting escalating tensions within West Bengal's political landscape.
