A Visakhapatnam-bound Air India Express flight was unexpectedly cancelled at Gannavaram Airport late Thursday night. An airport official confirmed that the flight's cancellation was due to a technical snag identified before take-off.

The flight carried high-profile passengers, including former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Andhra Pradesh's Agriculture Minister K Atchennaidu, and senior YSRCP leader B Satyanarayana. "While taxiing, they detected an engine problem, so the aircraft returned to the bay and the flight was cancelled," explained Vijayawada airport director Lakshmikanth Reddy.

An Air India Express spokesperson stated that the engine issue was identified prior to departure, underscoring their commitment to safety. Passengers were offered hotel accommodations, full refunds, and complimentary rescheduling options. The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience.
