On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled Rs 3,250 crore worth of infrastructure projects to boost connectivity and development in West Bengal and the North East. Four Amrit Bharat Express trains were flagged off from Malda, enhancing transportation networks across significant routes.
Highlighting a major step in rail modernization, the country's first Vande Bharat sleeper trains began their journey, reducing travel time between Howrah and Guwahati by 2.5 hours. Modi emphasized these projects as pivotal for empowering the region's youth and realizing dreams of modern infrastructure.
With strategic projects including a new rail line and highway upgrades, the initiatives aim to foster regional growth and economic ties. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that Vande Bharat trains would soon be exported, marking India's progress in self-reliant rail manufacturing.
