Jharkhand has secured the tenth position in the country for business transactions on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, according to a statement by GeM CEO Mihir Kumar on Monday. The state has managed transactions worth over Rs 45,000 crore over nine years, reflecting immense involvement from local traders, sellers, and buyers.
Kumar highlighted the potential for further growth, as traders gain wider market access across India. The 'GeM Excellence' session aimed to foster transparent, efficient, and technology-driven public procurement processes in Jharkhand, providing a platform for stakeholders to discuss their experiences and challenges.
The GeM portal is praised for its effectiveness, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jharkhand, which have received a substantial portion of orders. With over 40,000 sellers and 4,600 buyers registered, the state government continues to promote GeM as the premier platform for procurement.
