Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lauded the 2026-27 Union Budget, declaring it a significant step towards India's development and self-reliance. Speaking at a press conference at the BJP office, Dhami emphasized how the budget fulfills aspirations and strengthens the nation's spirit and confidence.
He highlighted that the increased capital expenditure lays a robust foundation for long-term growth, enhancing strategic autonomy and sovereignty. Additionally, development in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, such as Dehradun and Haridwar, is expected to rise, providing boosts to both infrastructure and employment opportunities.
The budget also places a spotlight on women's safety, empowerment, and education with provisions for hostels in each district. Furthermore, the promotion of green energy and local products like Ayush, pharma, and handloom will invigorate Uttarakhand's economy, aligning with recommendations from the 16th Finance Commission.
