Urban Company has revealed that its gig workers are earning as much as, or even more than, entry-level professionals in India's IT sector. The company claims that on average, its active service professional partners earn Rs 28,322 monthly, marking a 7% increase over previous periods.
According to the company's report, these earnings are comparable to fresher salaries in the IT industry, estimated at Rs 4 lakh annually based on publicly available data. It further emphasizes that top earners on the platform can make Rs 51,673 per month, substantially higher than their IT counterparts.
The data indicates that for the top performance tiers, professional earnings significantly exceed IT entry-level salaries. These figures provide insight into the strong demand for Urban Company's services, with partners working around 91 hours monthly and earning Rs 313 per hour on average, surpassing minimum wage standards in many cities.
