In a fragmented global setting, the Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce, France, Philippe Varin, underscored the importance of predictability and stability for successful business operations and investment strategies. Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, Varin called for pragmatic reforms and common principles as the geopolitical landscape continues to shift.

Earlier, Varin highlighted the fragility of current international partnerships during a panel discussion at the same event. He raised concerns about the complexities of supply chains and the importance of critical materials in technology, mobility, energy, and sustainability, stressing the necessity of partnerships founded on shared principles.

Varin further warned that the collapse of trade bodies like the WTO could significantly impact developing economies, predicting a potential 5-10% GDP loss. India's Commerce Minister, Piyush Goyal, echoed the sentiments, emphasizing India's proactive stance in addressing trade challenges and leveraging international platforms like the WTO ministerial and Raisina Dialogue.
