Varun Beverages is making significant strides in the South African market with its latest acquisition. The company's South African subsidiary, Bevco, announced plans to purchase Crickley Dairy Proprietary for Rs 131.47 crore.
This strategic move aligns with Varun Beverages' broader ambition to broaden its product lineup, targeting the value-added dairy and juice-based beverage segments. However, the deal is subject to regulatory approvals, including consent from the Competition Commissions of South Africa.
Earlier developments include the company's acquisition of The Beverage Company and South Africa-based Twizza. These moves have strengthened Varun Beverages' foothold in Southern Africa, covering territories such as Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, and Madagascar.
