A leading Israeli small arms manufacturer has marked a significant milestone in Indo-Israeli defense collaboration. Under the 'Make in India' initiative, Israel Weapons Industries (IWI) delivered the first set of NEGEV 7.62x51 light machine guns to India. This initial delivery comprises 2,000 units out of a total order of 41,000.

The delivery, executed by PLR Systems—a joint venture between IWI and Adani Group—demonstrates the successful technology transfer process that underpins this initiative. IWI's latest press release highlights the company's dedication to providing advanced systems on schedule and adhering to top quality standards, reinforcing India's defense manufacturing industry.

Highlighting the NEGEV LMG's capabilities, it's reported that the weapon is light, precise, and effective in urban combat. Its compatibility with various mounting platforms and computerized systems enhances its operational effectiveness.
