Ministers Rajesh Nagar and Shyam Singh Rana from Haryana took a proactive approach on Thursday by inspecting grain markets and procurement centers located in Yamunanagar and Jhajjar districts. Their visit aimed to examine the state's preparedness for the upcoming Rabi crop procurement season.
The ministers reassured local farmers and commission agents about the government's commitment to securing their interests, emphasizing that the crop procurement process would be conducted transparently and efficiently at the declared minimum support price (MSP). For this season, the MSP has been set at Rs 2,585 per quintal for wheat and Rs 6,200 per quintal for mustard.
Both ministers reviewed the basic facilities available at grain markets, including cleanliness, water supply, and the presence of essential equipment like weighing systems and CCTV cameras. They instructed officials to ensure timely payments directly to farmers' bank accounts and to maintain proper logistical arrangements for the quick lifting of grains from mandis.
