With Chile's vast natural resources, this deal aims to enhance bilateral trade and economic engagement across multiple sectors.
India and Chile are making strides towards securing a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), with talks focusing on trade facilitation and economic engagement, according to an official statement released Wednesday.
The discussion, featuring meetings between Chilean Foreign Affairs Minister Francisco Perez Mackenna, India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, aims to expand the trade relationship established under the 2006 preferential trade agreement.
Key areas of collaboration include critical minerals, renewable energy, and market access, with hopes of accessing Chile's extensive lithium and copper reserves to boost India's electronics, auto, and solar sectors.
