Odisha's DA Boost: Relief for State Employees and Pensioners

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has declared a 2% hike in dearness allowance for state employees and pensioners, increasing it from 58% to 60%. Set to be enforced retrospectively from January 1, 2026, the adjustment will impact approximately 8.5 lakh personnel and is payable with May salaries or pensions.

In a crucial financial relief move, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a 2% hike in the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners, effective from January 1, 2026. This decision increases the DA from 58% to 60%, bringing welcomed financial support to numerous families.

The Chief Minister's Office declared that the retroactive implementation of the DA increase will parallelly apply to temporary increases for pensioners. Starting with the May payroll and pensions, approximately 8.5 lakh beneficiaries across the state will receive the enhanced benefit.
