Air France to appeal court manslaughter conviction over 2009 Rio-Paris disaster

Air France ‌said on Thursday it would appeal to ‌France's highest court hours after a Paris appeals court found ‌the airline guilty ‌of corporate manslaughter over the crash of a Rio-Paris flight that killed 228 people in 2009.

"The company is aware that this appeal prolongs what has already been a lengthy process, particularly for the families, but points out that Air France's criminal liability had previously been ruled out twice," Air France said ‌in ‌a statement.
