Country Manager of Siemens Ghana, Edmund Acheampong, said that the German-based energy producing company, Siemen has contributed a lot to the Ghanaian economy with a focus on technology as a catalyst for Business and Economic Development.    

Addressing the audience in a function of Siemens third Ghana Customer Day in Accra, Edmund Acheampong said that the German-based company is prepared to change the future of Africa and Ghana through technology. Modern technology will boost economic development. The Country Manager also explained the Siemens technology across the energy, oil and gas, transportation, power generation and transmission spectrum to customers and potential customers.

“We want to make a meaningful impact and empower citizens in the communities that we do business in. Siemens contribution to the Ghanaian economy goes beyond our business investments. We are an avid supporter of science, engineering and technology education in the country. Africa workforce is young. So they will be a dire need for a digitally equipped labour force and to utilize the smart technologies of the future and Siemens is ready,” he said.

Speaking at the event of the Customer Day, the Country Manager said that the customer day also creates a platform for engaging conversations on some pertinent issues around technology and economic development. He said, “there is growing adoption of intelligence to change certain sectors but the real opportunities for Africa lie in production, energy and transportation. If successfully implemented, digitization will result in the establishment of new industries, new jobs, or exponentially increase in the skils development and drive economic growth, and with that established track record, we are well-positioned to use our expertise, automation, electrification and digitalization top do that for job creation.”

He also said Siemens is committed to supporting the Oil and Gas sector as well as Manufacturing and Energy sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
