Ukraine's Central Bank Governor Yakiv Smoliy on Wednesday said the central bank did not feel any pressure from either President Volodymyr Zelenskiy or the government.
He also said protests outside the central bank had no connection to Zelenskiy, and that he expected a positive outcome to ongoing loan talks with the International Monetary Fund.
Earlier on Wednesday, the central bank had accused the former owner of the country's largest lender PrivatBank, Ihor Kolomoisky, of paying protesters to demonstrate outside its building to disrupt its work and "create chaos".
