A senior officer of the Higher Education department today conducted a day-long inquiry into the alleged irregularities in Ravenshaw University here, officials said.
Additional secretary in the Higher Education department, P K Das examined the university's audit reports of last two years with reference to the allegations of misappropriation of funds and faulty purchases made by the varsity during the past two years, they said. Das also examined the mode of recruitment of permanent, contract and guest faculties of the university.
"I will submit a consolidated report to the Higher Education secretary soon as per the government direction," Das said.
Allegations of misappropriation of funds, faculty recruitment of teachers as well as guest faculties and unfair mode of promotions under career advancement scheme (CAS) were leveled against the university authorities by the students and various other people.
Taking cognizance of the allegations, the Higher Education secretary last month had ordered for an administrative inquiry into the matter, they added.
