Air Force Technical College AFTC, IAF and Indian Institute of Science IISc, Bengaluru on Thursday joined hands to promote academic cooperation, enhance scientific understanding of defence-adopted technologies and to undertake research and development activities in mutually beneficial areas.

Air Force Technical College (AFTC), IAF and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru on Thursday joined hands to promote academic cooperation, enhance scientific understanding of defence-adopted technologies and to undertake research and development activities in mutually beneficial areas. An MoU to this effect was signed by Air Commodore Ratnesh Gupta, Commandant, on behalf of AFTC Bengaluru, and Captain Sridhar Warrier (Retired), Registrar, on behalf of IISc. The pact would facilitate joint study/research work by AFTC as well as IISc in order to offer solutions to ''problem statements'' of IAF and to facilitate AFTC Trainee Officers an open access to IISc Library, a Defence release said. ''The areas of collaboration will be Aerospace Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Radar & Microwave, Guided Weapon, Drone Technologies, Computer Science & Cyber Security, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering,'' it was stated.
