Youth wings of Trinamool Congress and Congress took to the streets of West Bengal on Friday, voicing their opposition to alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG and UGC-NET exams. Protests erupted in central Kolkata's Moulali area, led by Pradesh Congress Committee president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, and in College Street, among other locations.
Chowdhury denounced the NEET and UGC-NET scandals, as well as a local school jobs scam, as distressing signs of the mismanagement affecting thousands of job aspirants. He urged for those responsible to be brought to justice and called for a high-level probe into the entrance tests.
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh criticized the central government and labeled the CBI inquiry into the UGC-NET leak as a 'farce', demanding a judicial investigation. Protests continued across several districts, with activists insisting on holding the perpetrators accountable to safeguard the future of many candidates.
