Congress President Kharge Slams BJP over Anti-Paper Leak Law

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has criticized the enforcement of the anti-paper leak law, calling it a 'whitewash'. He accused the BJP of promoting corruption and education mafia, and questioned their lack of action on leaked question papers over the last seven years.

The Centre operationalized the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, aiming to curb malpractice in competitive exams, with provisions for up to 10 years of jail time and fines reaching Rs 1 crore. However, Kharge in a Hindi post on 'X,' claimed that 70 question papers had been leaked in the past seven years and criticized the BJP for inaction.

He further accused the Union education minister of lying about the notification of the law, questioning why the Modi government hasn't taken stricter measures despite ongoing leaks, and described the new law as merely a cosmetic fix.
