A professor from the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Maharashtra's Latur district has been suspended following severe allegations of student exploitation and harassment. According to an official, the suspension took place after evidence showed the professor, Manisha Khanapure, forcing students to carry out household chores.
Principal Indira Ranbhidkar confirmed that Khanapure was suspended on July 2 after the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum to the resident deputy collector. The memorandum accused the professor of coercing three students to do her housework under the threat of giving them low grades.
A viral video showed students clearing garbage in what appeared to be Khanapure's home. Following these revelations, an inquiry committee of three members was formed, and based on their findings, the professor was suspended. This action has sparked widespread concern and discussions about teacher conduct and student safety.
