DSEU Revokes Fee Concessions for SC, ST, and EWS Students, Sparking Outcry

The decision coincides with a significant fee hike for several courses, prompting student appeals for financial support to continue their education.

The Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) has abruptly halted a 20% fee concession for SC and ST students and a 10% waiver for EWS students, causing alarm among those affected.

Students expressed concern not only over the reversal of waivers but also due to a recent fee hike and new policies barring 'fee defaulters' from taking exams.

DSEU Vice-chancellor Ashok Kumar Nagawat stated the fee hikes were based on Finance Committee recommendations to address funding shortfalls. The revised fees are detailed in DSEU's 2024 Information Bulletin.
