The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday announced the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG results, paving the way to start the admission process for undergraduate courses. The process was delayed this year due to alleged irregularities in competitive exams, including NEET-UG and UGC-NET.
This year, the highest number of full marks scorers in CUET-UG were in Business Studies (8,024). Political Science had 5,141 full marks scorers, followed by History with 2,520, English with 1,683, and Psychology with 1,602 full marks. While the General Test saw the highest participation with 7.09 lakh candidates, only one scored full marks. The NTA has not provided data on the number of hundredth percentiles scored this year, a noticeable change from the previous year's detailed reporting.
The merit list will be prepared by the 283 participating universities based on scores provided by the NTA, which will be used for admission counselling sessions. The NTA had also made procedural changes, including conducting the test in a hybrid mode for the first time and cancelling the normalization of scores by conducting all exams in a single shift. Despite initial delays and logistical challenges, the CUET-UG saw participation from over 13.4 lakh candidates vying for undergraduate course admissions.
