Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday underscored the need for stringent supervision of coaching centres after a tragic incident that claimed three lives in Delhi. Pradhan emphasized that it is the duty of state governments to ensure these institutions adhere to set guidelines.

During a debate in the Rajya Sabha, Pradhan called the deaths of the three students 'unfortunate' and stressed that political agendas should not overshadow accountability. He reminded that education falls under both central and state responsibilities and that coaching centres must also uphold their obligations.

The minister cited multiple advisories sent to states and Union Territories over the years, stressing that adherence to these guidelines could have averted the tragedy. He called for constructive suggestions to improve the oversight and management of coaching centres across India.
