Over a dozen students from PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya in Harchandpur were hospitalised on Tuesday after collapsing during a rigorous morning assembly session involving physical training (PT) and yoga, officials reported.

District Magistrate Prem Ranjan Singh revealed that the students, ranging from classes 6 to 9, were made to perform the exercises twice, leading to several of them fainting. School Principal Sandhya Sharan expedited their transfer to a medical college for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that around a dozen students are now stable, and an investigation has been initiated to understand why such excessive physical exertion occurred. A medical team has also been dispatched to assess the health of other students.
