On Thursday, civil services aspirants continued their agitation for the fifth consecutive day in response to the tragic deaths of three students at a Rajinder Nagar coaching centre, which was flooded after heavy rain.

'We will continue our protest. The rain on Wednesday showed everyone the situation we face in this area during such conditions,' said Goutam, a civil service aspirant. Goutam is part of a 15-member team that will decide the protest's next steps and communicate with authorities. Senior officials from the Delhi Police and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) visited the protest site to address concerns and maintain order.

The Old Rajinder Nagar area saw heavy rains again on Wednesday evening, exacerbating waterlogged conditions and posing safety risks for commuters. Numerous videos showcasing the flood-like situation in the coaching centre-laden stretch surfaced online. The MCD has faced heavy criticism, triggering a political blame game between the BJP and the AAP.

Protests have been ongoing since the incident on July 27. The students are demanding improved safety measures at coaching centres. AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak was seen in a video wading through knee-deep water in Rajinder Nagar, shared by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The deceased students, Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni, and Nevin Dalvin, died after torrential rains flooded the basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle.
