Karnataka Seeks AIIMS in Raichur, NRI Quota in Medical Colleges: Minister Patil Pushes for Immediate Sanction

Karnataka Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil met Union Health Minister JP Nadda in New Delhi, urging the establishment of AIIMS in Raichur.
This was Patil's second visit within six months to push for the project and the sanction of an NRI quota in state-run medical colleges.
Patil emphasized the importance of AIIMS for the developmental advancement of the backward Kalyana Karnataka region and sought the sanctioning of supernumerary MBBS seats to facilitate the NRI quota without affecting current intake capacities.
