Delhi University Allocates Over 74,000 Undergraduate Seats Amid New Supernumerary Quotas
Delhi University has allocated 74,108 seats for its 71,600 undergraduate spots, including new supernumerary quotas for single girl children and orphans. The third round of admissions began on August 31, including performance-based and special quotas. Pending seats in BFA and CW categories will be announced soon.

Delhi University has confirmed a total of 74,108 allocations for its undergraduate programs, surpassing the available 71,600 seats. Of these, 764 allocations fall under the new supernumerary quota designated for single girl child applicants.
The third round of admissions, which commenced on August 31, revealed the latest seat allocations. The university introduced an additional supernumerary quota last year for orphaned students, specifically those impacted by COVID-19, allocating seats to 132 such students so far.
DU has reserved one seat per program per college for single girl children and similarly, one seat each for male and female orphans. For the academic session 2024-25, 28,810 students have sought to upgrade their current college and course combinations, whereas 45,298 students have chosen to finalize their admissions based on the current allocations. Admissions during this phase also include performance-based programs, and various supernumerary quotas, such as those for children of widows of armed forces personnel, and activities under ECA and sports.
