Hemant Soren Unveils Educational Reforms and Science City in Ranchi
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren launched six online portals to enhance university and college operations and unveiled plans for a new Ranchi University campus and Science City. The initiatives aim to provide world-class education and promote scientific tourism in Ranchi.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has launched six new online portals aimed at streamlining operations across universities and colleges in the state. The portals, introduced under the higher and technical education department, are designed to enhance efficiency in financial management, academic excellence, and apprenticeship, among other areas.
In addition to the digital initiatives, Soren also inaugurated an innovation hub at the Ranchi Science Centre and unveiled the blueprint for a new state-of-the-art Ranchi University campus. The ambitious project, estimated to cost Rs 1,100 crore, will provide world-class education facilities to 30,000 students on an 87-acre campus in Chedi.
A separate Rs 270 crore plan aims to transform the regional science centre into a Science City, boosting scientific tourism in Ranchi. The science city, spread over 25 acres, is expected to be a major attraction for educational and scientific pursuits in the region.
